NSW EPA on the warpath for illegal waste disposal practices
A recent news story reveals that the NSW EPA has been involved in 3 separate prosecutions regarding illegal waste dumping over the past year. One involves a waste recycling company who has allegedly exceeded their license for the volume of waste it can treat at a specific site.
The second involves a waste company illegally spreading contaminated mulch on farmland. This has since been removed from the farm.
The final case involved a construction company storing waste spoil from a road construction project on a neighbouring property without an appropriate license or DA.
These cases illustrate the reduced tolerance for illegal waste handling in NSW..
